YachtFest San Diego 07’ Sets Record with Largest Show Ever
A record setting year, YachtFest ’07 presented by San Diego Marine Exchange, was the best event to date. For the first time in its eight-year history, all of YachtFest boat slips were sold out. Forty of the world’s most beautiful super yachts were featured, ranging in sizes from 50’ to 142’ and values up to $25 million. This year’s event attracted more visitors than any of the other previous years.
Visitors were able to board these exquisite yachts and view over 30 land and marina exhibits. The present exhibitors offered a wide range of luxury living from high-end real estate, automobiles and financial groups to vacation packages and marine trade companies.
In addition to its lavish super yachts, YachtFest’s second annual “All Decked Out” Fashion show was a stylish success. Exhibitors and attendees enjoyed the variety of fashions presented by Saks Fifth Avenue and jewelry by Charles Koll Jewelers. Proceeds from the show were given to the San Diego Armed Services YMCA.
YachtFest also hosted an educational seminar “Your Career in Yachting.” This year’s presentation attracted a large group of eager individuals interested in entering the yachting industry with a full-time career. Over 75 participants gained beneficial knowledge from Merrill Stevens Crew Placement yachting experts.
Each day ended with an exclusive party, where guests enjoyed the featured hospitality and entertainment. Parties were held at Fiddler’s Green, Jimsair and the Island Palms Hotel. Each event gave guests the privileged opportunity to network with notable contacts in the yachting industry.
YachtFest ’07 concluded with the yacht awards. Winners were announced for the following categories: Best Interior, Endurance, 77’ Northern Marine; People’s Choice, Endless Summer, 92’ Paragon Motors; Best in Show, Status Quo, 142’ Richmond; and Broker’s Choice, Thomas Spirit, 115’ Christiansen. The Broker’s Choice is a new addition to this highly anticipated award night.
This year’s YachtFest was such a great success, San Diego Marine Exchange, Integrated Sports Marketing and all of YachtFest’s Sponsors look forward to topping this event at YachtFest 2008.
